While planning our first Open House (to celebrate five years of serving clients as well as our new Troy office), we wanted to offer an interesting activity for guests and employees.
So, we decided to create an original work of art—together.
With the help of talented local artist Kathleen McInerney, we created an image that represented who CU Trust is and what we stand for, sketched on a large canvas.
Guests then painted freely, using a colorful rendering for reference and adding their own artistic interpretation.
It was wonderful to see everyone—from Estate Planning Attorneys, to Clients, to Trust Advisors—engage in the art-making. The one-of-a-kind painting is now proudly displayed in our Troy office.

A note from the artist:
While I was working on the artwork, a small white feather appeared right at my feet. I bent down to pick it up, taken aback by the realization that I was painting a white feather and now an actual one was right there.
I felt like it was heaven-sent, a moment when I was wanting to capture this image to convey the faithful trust that your clients must have when working with you. It is trust that transcends time, a belief that you will carry on their wishes and honor their legacy. I have never had something like this happen before, so I made the actual feather a part of this painting.
