Gary Shegina has more than 25 years of experience in the trust, banking, and financial services industry. As Senior Trust Officer, his primary responsibility is to manage the administration of all trust, estate, and investment management accounts where Credit Union Trust is named as fiduciary.
After beginning his career at Michigan National Bank (MNB) in the Consumer Lending department, Gary transitioned into Wealth Management at MNB and began his career as a trust officer. After the merger with LaSalle Bank (now Bank of America), he was given the responsibility of managing primarily fiduciary relationships. He then became a Managing Director for The Private Bank (now CIBC), where he was responsible for all trust and fiduciary relationships in the Private Wealth Group. His experience includes estate planning and settlement, revocable and irrevocable trust administration, conservatorships, IRA, ILIT, and Charitable Giving Trusts.
Gary received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Western Michigan University. He earned a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation through the graduate trust school at Northwestern University and a Certified Financial Planning designation through the Executive Education Program at Oakland University. Gary also attended the Duke University Private Wealth Management School.
